I used to be scared of the ocean
its bigness seemed to
overwhelm
even the largest parts of myself
i never walked too close to the waves
until one day
i dipped my toes into the warm water
i felt the ocean
inside me
big and uninterrupted
stretching from head to toe
sweeping the old fears away
letting me drift
peacefully
back to myself
